Briefing sessions of Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre open for registration
******************************************************************************************
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has launched the Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme of the East Kowloon Cultural Centre (EKCC). Two briefing sessions will be held on November 11 (Friday) and November 15 (Tuesday). Interested local arts groups, arts organisations and individual artists are invited to register for the sessions.

The integration of arts and innovation and technology has become a new trend in arts development. The LCSD plans to adopt advanced innovative technology in the EKCC that will serve as an incubator for the development of arts and technology, so as to identify emerging trends in arts development and seize the opportunities that come with innovation and technology. Both the Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme aim to foster partnerships between the EKCC, arts groups, arts organisations and individual artists, with the objectives of enhancing the artistic image and character of the venue and its partner, enlarging the audience base, optimising usage of facilities, developing venue-based marketing strategies, promoting arts in the community, and encouraging community involvement in arts development.

The two briefing sessions will be held at 3.30pm on November 11 and 10.30am on November 15 at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Both briefing sessions will share the same content and will be conducted in Cantonese. Interested arts groups, arts organisations and individual artists are welcome to enroll at www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/vps/ekccinvitation.html. Early registration is recommended as limited seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Depending on the condition after completion of construction, the Venue Partnership Scheme and Artist-in-Residence Pilot Scheme of the EKCC are expected to start in April 2024 and end in March 2026. The deadline for submission of proposals for the two schemes is 5.30pm on January 18, 2023.

The Invitation for Proposals document can be downloaded from www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/vps/ekccinvitation.html. For enquiries, please call 9684 8429 or email to ekcc@lcsd.gov.hk.
