Muse Fest HK 2022 offers wonderful museum journey to public
***********************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is presenting the month-long Muse Fest HK 2022 in November. The theme of this year's Museum Festival is "Hong Kong H.A.S. Museums", in which "H" stands for history, "A" stands for art and "S" stands for science. The museums under the management of the LCSD are launching over 70 programmes, allowing the public to enjoy the fun through a journey of history inquiry, art appreciation and science exploration.

Various museums, including the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the Oil Street Art Space, the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum, the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre located in the Sam Tung Uk Museum and the Fireboat Alexander Grantham Exhibition Gallery, will hold fun days for museum goers, in particular families, to experience the vibrant facets of the museums. The delightful activities will include handicraft workshops, games, performances, demonstrations and storytelling, and should not be missed.

Another highlight is "History x Film x Conservation - Boundless Classics", to be held at the Hong Kong Museum of History on November 12 and 13. The Museum of History will join hands with the Hong Kong Film Archive and the Conservation Office to provide the public with a two-day event packed with fun programmes. Apart from talks, workshops and games, the Film Archive will present two classic movies starring Connie Chan Po-chu while the Conservation Office will hold "Here We Talk: Behind the Scenes in Conservation of Joyous Destiny: A Selection of Wedding Memorabilia from the Museum's Collections + Demonstrations". The fun-packed crossover event will give the public an inspiring museum experience.

Other attractions of the festival are "Space Theatre Highlight Tour" by the Hong Kong Space Museum in which participants can visit the back-end production area of the Space Theatre including the control studio and the Omnimax projection room, and "Create and preserve your own album workshop + conservation lab visit" organised by the Conservation Office, offering participants chances to visit the Conservation Lab, which is rarely open to the public, and sharing with them the tips to keep books and photo albums in good condition. A "Heritage Tour" and special screening of "Anita" will also be held at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

More spectacular programmes are rolling out. For programme and registration details of Muse Fest HK 2022, please visit the website at www.museums.gov.hk/mf2022.
