Sessions on "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" held by Kowloon City and Wong Tai Sin District Offices (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) concluded victoriously. General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Xi Jinping expressed yesterday (October 23) that China is embarking on a new journey to build itself into a modern socialist country in all respects to reach the country's second centenary goal and to advance the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernisation. The Chief Executive, Mr John Lee said that the discussion on the "One Country, Two Systems" principle mentioned in General Secretary Xi Jinping's report delivered at the opening session is an action guide for Hong Kong to promote the transition from chaos to order and to advance from stability to prosperity. Accurate understanding on the essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC is conducive to ensuring the robustness of "One Country, Two Systems" and enabling Hong Kong to focus on development and improving livelihoods by better integrating into the nation's overall development. The Kowloon City District Office (KCDO) and the Wong Tai Sin District Office (WTSDO) each held a session yesterday (October 23) on "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" by inviting different keynote speakers to enable Hong Kong youths and district figures to obtain a deeper understanding of the "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC".

The KCDO, in collaboration with the Kowloon Federation of Associations Kowloon City District Committee, jointly held the Session on "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" at the hall of Po Leung Kuk Lam Man Chan English Primary School yesterday. The former President of the Legislative Council (LegCo), Mr Jasper Tsang was invited as the keynote speaker. He succinctly indicated the key points of Secretary General's report delivered at the opening session of 20th National Congress of the CPC, and elaborated in an easy-to-understand manner the points on the essentiality of adhering to the "One Country, Two Systems" principle over the long term, and the Central Authorities' full support to Hong Kong in better integrating into the nation's development. About 200 participants attended the session, including the District Officer (Kowloon City), Miss Alice Choi, LegCo member, Mr Kitson Yang, members of committees under the KCDO, members of the Kowloon City District Council and leaders of local organisations in the Kowloon City District.

The WTSDO, together with the Kowloon Federation of Associations Wong Tai Sin District Committee, the Wong Tai Sin Branch of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) and the Wong Tai Sin District Service Office of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU), also jointly held the Session on "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC" at the Amphitheatre of Morse Park (Park No. 4) yesterday. Mr Jasper Tsang was invited as the keynote speaker while LegCo member, Ms Starry Lee, and the District Officer (Wong Tai Sin), Mr Steve Wong also shared their thoughts at the Session, to enable the residents to have a deeper understanding on "Essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC". Over 1 000 participants attended the Session, including LegCo members, Mr Frankie Ngan and Mr Tang Ka-piu, and residents in Wong Tai Sin District.

Other District Offices will be rolling out sessions, so as to enable more district figures to obtain a deeper understanding of the essence of the 20th National Congress of the CPC.
