Transcript of remarks by SCED at media session (English only)
*************************************************************
Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Algernon Yau, at a media session after attending a radio programme this morning (October 21):

Reporter: What market reactions have you received over the measures you proposed in the Policy Address about attracting enterprises? Are there any plans to promote the latest measures to enterprises outside Hong Kong?

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development: Regarding your question, we are going to set up an office to attract strategic enterprises, which will be headed by the Financial Secretary. To support this function, the overseas (Economic and Trade) Offices and the offices in the Mainland will set up a unit to look after how to acquire companies and talents. In addition to that, we are going to set up an advisory committee to provide advice to the Financial Secretary regarding what strategic industries or enterprises we are going to target. That will be completed by the end of this year. Once it is completed, we will start our action by early 2023. Before that, we may not have the list on hand at this moment, but we are going to finalise it as quickly as possible.
