Light Up a Bright Future with Your Child video production contest by EDB invites public voting on favourite entries
***************************************************************

Members of the public can vote for the Most Liked Award of the video production competition on parent education, Light Up a Bright Future with Your Child, organised by the Education Bureau (EDB) starting from today (October 10). Parents, students, teachers and members of the public are all welcome to cast their votes for the entries they like most by visiting the designated website (www.parent.edu.hk/en/article/video_competition).

A spokesman for the EDB said, "The competition was well received, attracting over 800 parents, students, teachers and members of the public to join. A total of 360 videos were submitted and most of them are of good quality with content in line with the theme of positive parenting, and used creative ways to encourage parents to establish a good parent-child relationship. To let the public have the opportunities to view these videos as well as enhance interaction and public participation, the EDB has specifically set up the Most Liked Award and is inviting public voting."

The competition comprises four categories: primary group, secondary group, parent-child group and open group. There will be one champion, one first runner-up, one second runner-up, five merit awards and a Most Liked Award in each category. The adjudication panel has selected eight entries from each category for public voting for the Most Liked Award. The award will be presented to the entry of each category receiving the highest number of "likes" in public voting.

The deadline for public voting is October 19. The result of the competition will be announced on November 4, followed by a prize presentation ceremony cum exhibition. Details will be announced in due course.

The competition was organised by the EDB with an aim to promote positive parent education and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Since June 2020, the EDB has been running the Positive Parent Campaign to enhance positive parent education through extensive and diversified channels. The objective is to foster parents' positive thinking and promote proper ways and attitudes of raising children, so that a positive mindset in nurturing children could be developed amongst parents to enable children to learn effectively and grow up happily.
