Transcript of remarks by SITI at media session
**********************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, at a media session after attending a radio programme today (October 8):

Reporter: Can you talk a bit about the age flexibility you just mentioned, what sort of flexibility of individual candidates that we are looking at? Are you talking about like if the person is 50, then maybe he or she can join? And secondly, how do you think the aerospace industry like the personnel overseas can through this opportunity be recruited back to Hong Kong to join the sector here?

Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry: Just now I talked about the flexibility for the age. This time the country's requirement is that in principle the age should be from 30 to 45. That's why we said in terms of the age, we may have a little flexibility, but the final decision will be made by the country. For your question about attracting talents, I believe Hong Kong can utilise this good opportunity to enhance its development of ecosystem in aerospace, including aerospace education, research and industry development. If we really have a good ecosystem, I'm confident we will be able to attract a lot of experts from overseas to come to Hong Kong to develop their work.

Reporter: Another question I have is on "LeaveHomeSafe". There are some medical experts who argue that the app is no longer useful because there is a Vaccine Pass that is more useful in terms of monitoring patients, etc. Is there any room for Hong Kong to drop the "LeaveHomeSafe" app anytime soon?

Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry: "LeaveHomeSafe" has functioned very successfully since it was launched two years ago. In August, it also added Red and Amber Codes to the system to better monitor a specific group of people. So far, "LeaveHomeSafe" with Red and Amber Codes system has played a very important role in fighting against the pandemic with precision. We have used the "LeaveHomeSafe" app system to support the Government's anti-pandemic policies very successfully, so currently we have no plan to cancel "LeaveHomeSafe" app.
