The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will hold the 2021/22 General Education in Arts Programme for Tertiary Students "A Date with Dogs" public performances from October 28 to 30 (Friday to Sunday) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The public performances will run from 2pm to 8.45pm each day at the Memorial Lawn of Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park, showcasing achievements of the students participating in the programme. Members of the public and their dogs are welcome to enjoy the fun of inclusive public space.
 
     The event is under the exclusive sponsorship of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), and is one of the many initiatives supported by the HKJC's approved donation of $630 million to the Government of the HKSAR to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, demonstrating that the HKJC is resolute in pursuing its purpose of acting continuously for the betterment of society, all in support of creating stronger communities together.
 
     "A Date with Dogs" is produced by Make a Difference, with the participation of some 30 tertiary students from different faculties of various institutions who had joined different workshops and in-situ trials over the past year to create a series of interactive installations and sound compositions. During the events, interactive installations such as a ball pool and a slide will be set up from 2pm to 5pm to bring about a lively experience of co-existence between the public and their dogs. In the evenings, a performance featuring the installations will be held from 7.15pm with original music presented by the participating students, musicians and dancers for event goers and their dogs to enjoy the sense of togetherness. There will also be sharing sessions by members of animal-friendly communities and individuals in the afternoons of October 29 and 30, promoting the message of co-existence between humans and animals.

     After this event, the interactive installations will be showcased in East Coast Park (Phase 1), Kai Tak Station Square and Tsuen Wan Park in November and December.
 
     The Audience Building Office of the LCSD has organised the scheme General Education in Arts Programme for Tertiary Students since 2014/15, with the aim of promoting the appreciation of the performing arts among tertiary students. The scheme provides an interactive platform for tertiary students to learn and experience performing arts under professional guidance in the process of creating their own artistic works so as to acquire an in-depth understanding of the arts.
 
     In order to comply with the requirements stipulated in the Prevention and Control of Disease (Requirements and Directions) (Business and Premises) Regulation (Cap. 599F) and relevant requirements of administrative instructions, participants are required to scan the "LeaveHomeSafe" venue QR code with their mobile phones/other mobile devices before being allowed to enter the venue for necessary contact tracing if a confirmed case is found. In accordance with the Prevention and Control of Disease (Vaccine Pass) Regulation (Cap. 599L) and relevant requirements of administrative instructions, all persons entering the venue must comply with the relevant requirement of the Vaccine Pass. According to the latest requirement on the Vaccine Pass announced by the Government, all persons with their Vaccine Pass QR codes displayed in red or amber are not allowed to enter the venue.
