The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (Toronto) (Toronto ETO) organised a photography touring exhibition entitled "A Landscape Journey" in Canada featuring Hong Kong young award-winning photographer Kelvin Yuen . The Toronto leg of the exhibition held its opening ceremony yesterday (October 4, Toronto time) at the North Hall Gallery of the Stackt Market in downtown Toronto. This touring exhibition is jointly presented by Toronto ETO and the Chinese-Canadian Photographic Society of Toronto (CCPST) to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the Director of Toronto ETO, Ms Emily Mo, first gave a brief account of Hong Kong's dynamic arts and cultural scene. "Hong Kong is more than an international financial centre, it is also a hub of talents and beautiful natural scenery," Ms Mo said.

Ms Mo invited participants to have a glimpse of the beautiful landscape of Hong Kong through the photo displays. "Through Kelvin's lens, you will be able to see the beauty and contrasting diversity of Hong Kong. Through Kelvin's eyes, you can see the 'can-do' spirit, resilience and flexibility, which are the famous characteristics of the talents in Hong Kong," Ms Mo said.

Ms Mo added that Hong Kong lifted compulsory quarantine requirement for inbound travellers from overseas places or Taiwan starting from September 26, and welcomed Canadian visitors to enjoy Hong Kong's nature and other offerings including various new developments in the West Kowloon Cultural District.

She moved on to introduce the theme of this year's celebration for Hong Kong's return to motherland . "'A New Era - Stability • Prosperity • Opportunity' and it represents Hong Kong's achievements over the past 25 years, and underscores our anticipation for and confidence in a brighter future," Ms Mo said.

The "A Landscape Journey" touring exhibition has been arranged in different cities including Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto from September to October to display 30 photos of Kelvin Yuen and other photos of CCPST members. The Toronto leg of the exhibition will run till October 16.

During the exhibition period, Toronto ETO also supported Kelvin Yuen to shot the beautiful landscapes of Canada as well as organised different sideline activities to enhance the cultural exchanges between Canada and Hong Kong.
