Police launch "Scam Alert Subscription" on Anti-Deception Coordination Centre website
***************************************************************

The Anti-Deception Coordination Centre (ADCC) of the Hong Kong Police Force today (October 3) launched a subscription service, "Scam Alert Subscription", on its website (www.adcc.gov.hk) to enable the public to receive new scam alerts by email, with a view to enhancing the public's anti-deception awareness.

The subscription page can be directly accessed by scanning the QR code (Annex 2) or at www.adcc.gov.hk/en-hk/subscribe.html. Members of the public can simply fill in basic personal information including email address. Upon subscription, the system will automatically send scam alerts to subscribers' registered email address once new scam alerts in relation to latest defrauding tricks are uploaded to the website. The public can also subscribe to certain types of scam alerts according to their individual needs.

Launched in April last year, the website of ADCC has been continuously updating its contents and disseminating all types of anti-deception information to the public including the latest scam alerts, anti-scam promotional videos, details of anti-deception activities organised by Police units or partners as well as statistics on various prevalent scams. According to the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, the ADCC website has recorded a hit rate of over 77 million.
