Hospital Authority announces positive patient cases detected via admission screening or testing and clusters of nosocomial COVID-19 infections

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     ​The Hospital Authority today (September 29) announced information regarding patients who tested positive via admission screening or testing with patients or staff members identified as close contacts and nosocomial COVID-19 infection cases.

     The following are the statistics of patients who tested positive via admission screening or by testing in public hospitals with patients or staff members identified as close contacts:

     In addition, regarding the orthopaedic and traumatology department in United Christian Hospital (UCH) where staff members tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (September 28), six more doctors of the department have confirmed COVID-19 infection. The hospital has arranged COVID-19 testing for all patients in the concerned wards, and results have been negative so far. One of the environmental samples taken in the doctors' office in the ward tested weak positive. The hospital has conducted thorough cleaning and disinfection operations in the concerned areas. The emergency services of the department remains normal. A small number of non-emergency services will be adjusted and the department of orthopaedics and traumatology in Tseung Kwan O Hospital will provide support. UCH will continue to investigate the source of infection, closely monitor the health condition of its staff and patients, and communicate with the Centre for Health Protection about the latest situation.
