The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (HKETO, Brussels) supported a networking event for the fashion business organised by the Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF) in Paris, France on September 28.

The event was attended by around 250 guests from the fashion industry including editors, buyers, students and designers.

Deputy Representative of HKETO, Brussels, Ms Grace Li, said at the event that Hong Kong was an open, vibrant and cosmopolitan market, and has established an innovative fashion industry which was making its mark internationally. More and more young and talented Hong Kong fashion designers had been creating their own brands and bringing imaginative concepts and skills to the market. She remarked that Hong Kong designers excelled and adpated well in this extremely competitive business, meeting new challenges and opportunities including fast changing technology and calls for sustainability in apparel production.

"As we can see from the sample collections here today, designers' creations are full of audacity and contemporary flair, showing superb tailoring and craftmanship," she said.

The Fashion Farm Foundation is a non-profit organisation founded in 2012 by a group of fashion entrepreneurs and fashion educators in Hong Kong to promote Hong Kong fashion globally. It aims to build synergy among Hong Kong-based fashion designers, cultural practitioners, industry experts and retailers. Through visits to the Paris Fashion Weeks, FFF facilitates international exposure for the creations of Hong Kong fashion designers.

This year, FFF brought eight talented Hong Kong fashion designers to showcase their creations in the French capital during Paris Fashion Week, held from September 26 to October 4.
