Government to hold webinar on Vaccine Pass new arrangement for catering businesses tomorrow
***************************************************************

The Government has earlier announced that starting from this Friday (September 30), the applicable age of the Vaccine Pass will be lowered to 5 and persons aged 12 or above are required to receive the third dose within five months after receiving the second dose. The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) will, together with the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO), host a webinar tomorrow (September 28) to brief the catering businesses on the latest arrangements on Vaccine Pass applicable to catering premises, the updating of "LeaveHomeSafe" (LHS) and "QR Code Verification Scanner" mobile applications, and their new functions, etc.

To facilitate the new arrangement of the Vaccine Pass, a new function has been added to the LHS. After users have updated the application, they may store the Vaccine Pass of themselves and a maximum of eight accompanied persons (including persons aged 15 or below, persons aged 65 or above, or persons with disabilities, etc) at the same time. Parents may also use the "eHealth" mobile application to retrieve and present their own Vaccine Pass as well as that of their children at the same time. Moreover, children or their family members may also bring along and present a paper record printed with the QR code or present a photo of the QR code saved in a mobile phone for the purpose of using it as the Vaccine Pass.

The FEHD reminds persons-in-charge of catering premises to note the above-mentioned methods of presenting the QR code of the Vaccine Pass, and to update their QR Code Verification Scanner mobile application to the latest version of 4.4.2 as soon as possible to ensure that checking and record of the Vaccine Pass of customers or visitors can be performed accurately to comply with the Government's new Vaccine Pass arrangement.

The webinar will be held at 3pm tomorrow. Premises operators may login to the website (emsd-gov-hk.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ok12q0b8TWSRiZ6MqvRg-g) to join. It will be on a first-come-first-served basis, given the limit on capacity. The footage of the webinar will also be uploaded afterwards to the thematic website "Together, We Fight the Virus" (www.coronavirus.gov.hk/eng/index.html), the OGCIO's website (www.ogcio.gov.hk/en/) and the FEHD's thematic webpage (www.fehd.gov.hk/english/events/covid19/vaccine_pass_webinar.html).

The FEHD will update its relevant thematic webpage to provide information to the catering premises operators for the strict compliance with the various anti-epidemic regulations and restrictions. Moreover, the spokesman also reminds members of the public to comply with the related regulations and directions on group gatherings and mask wearing at catering premises.

The FEHD will continue to conduct stringent enforcement operations proactively, and urges premises operators not to defy the law.
