***************************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department's (LCSD) Sports Training Programmes for Persons with Disabilities now offers a series of free sports training courses to open up opportunities for persons with disabilities to enjoy a wide variety of sports. Eligible persons are welcome to apply and participate.

Sports Training Programmes for Persons with Disabilities serves persons with physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, chronic illnesses, hearing impairment, visual impairment, autism and ex-mental illness. The courses cover body-mind stretch, badminton, bocce, floor hockey, table tennis, fitness exercise, seated group aerobic, wheelchair tennis, modern dance, baduanjin and parent-child gymnastics.

The courses have been devised with professional advice provided by relevant national sports associations to suit the needs of various types of disabilities.      All courses are free of charge and are conducted by qualified instructors. Among them the table tennis training programme for persons with intellectual disabilities and the parent-child gymnastics training programme for persons with autism are now open for enrolment. Each participant can enrol and participate with one care taker for assistance during the courses.
