SWD urges public to be alert to fraudulent SMS message

The SWD received various enquiries from members of the public concerning an SMS message purportedly issued by the department about the collection of an anti-epidemic subsidy. The SMS message provides a link (https://shukunj.com/) to a fake SWD website.
The SWD clarified that it had not sent the SMS message in question and had referred the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation.
Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website concerned should contact the Police. For enquiries, please call the SWD's hotline at 2343 2255.
