The Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau (ITIB) said today (August 29) that the Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, has tested preliminarily positive for COVID-19. He is undergoing isolation in accordance with the guidelines of the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health.

     Professor Sun went to work today. He wore masks and followed relevant disease prevention measures at work, including conducting rapid antigen tests daily. He received a negative result this morning for a polymerase chain reaction-based nucleic acid test conducted yesterday evening (August 28). Professor Sun has no recent travel history. 

     The ITIB will conduct thorough cleaning and disinfection at the relevant offices and arrange for relevant staff members to undergo COVID-19 tests in accordance with the advice from the CHP of the Department of Health.
