The Government announced today (August 12) that the Financial Secretary, in exercise of his authority under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance, has appointed Mr Lam Chun-sing as the Chairman of the Mandatory Provident Fund Industry Schemes Committee (MPFISC). He has also appointed Ms Cherrie Chong Wing-lum as a new member, and re-appointed eight incumbent members. The above-mentioned appointments are for a term of two years from August 25, 2022, to August 24, 2024, both dates inclusive.
 
     The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Mr Christopher Hui, said, "Since its establishment in 2000, the MPFISC has been making recommendations to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority regarding the operation of Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) industry schemes and protection of scheme members' interests. We hope the new term of the MPFISC under Mr Lam's leadership will continue to offer sound advice for enhancing the efficiency of MPF industry schemes."
       
     Mr Hui also thanked the outgoing Chairman, Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping, and outgoing member Mr Lee Yuen-hong for their valuable contributions to the MPFISC during their tenure.
