Wounding with intent case in Wan Chai reclassified as murder

At around 9.30pm on December 23, 2021, Police received a report that a 37-year-old foreign woman was found collapsed in a unit on 82 Stone Nullah Lane in Wan Chai.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the foreign woman sustaining face injuries. She was rushed to Ruttonjee Hospital in unconscious state. After initial investigation, Police arrested a 42-year-old foreign man on the same day.
The 37-year-old woman was certified dead at 7am on January 2, 2022.
Upon further investigation, Police reclassified the case as murder. The case will be mentioned before the Eastern Magistracy in the morning on October 18. The case is under District Crime Squad 1 of Wanchai District’s investigation.
