CSTB explains investigation arrangement of serious incident at Hong Kong Coliseum

     ​Regarding the investigation on the serious incident at Hong Kong Coliseum, a spokesman for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau today (July 31) said that the work focus of the Government includes finding out the cause of the incident, and whether there is a neglect of duty for the persons involved.
      
     The task force to be led by an Assistant Director of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department that was set up earlier will hold its first meeting tomorrow (August 1). Its works include identifying the cause of the incident, suggesting and following up on recommendations, so as to prevent recurrence of incident in similar nature.
      
     The Labour Department is investigating the organiser to see if safety of staff was safeguarded according to Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The Police Force has joined to investigate whether there is professional negligence or other criminal liability involved, and will contact the persons concerned to assist in the investigation.
      
     The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr Kevin Yeung, will personally supervise the investigation, and co-ordinate the work in various aspect.
