Sessions on "Spirit of the President's Important Speech" held by Wan Chai, Kowloon City, Sha Tin and Central and Western District Offices (with photos)

      President Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the meeting celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the inaugural ceremony of the sixth-term Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The Wan Chai District Office (WCDO), the Kowloon City District Office (KCDO), the Sha Tin District Office (STDO) and the Central and Western District Office (C&WDO) each held sessions in recent days on the topic "Spirit of the President's Important Speech" by inviting different keynote speakers to talk and exchange thoughts on the spirit of the President's important speech.

      The WCDO, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Wan Chai District Association, today (July 28) jointly held the "Celebrations for HKSAR 25th Anniversary cum Session to Learn About the Spirit of President Xi's Important Speech" at Wan Chai Activities Centre. The Deputy Director General of the Hong Kong Island Sub-office of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in the HKSAR, Mr Wang Hui, was invited to exchange thoughts with the audience. The District Officer (Wan Chai), Mr Rick Chan, attended the session and spoke to the audience. About 120 participants attended the session, including the Chairman of the Hong Kong Wan Chai District Association, Dr Baldwin Cheng, and Member of the Legislative Council (the LegCo) and the Wan Chai District Council Mr Paul Tse.  

      In addition to the two sessions held on July 10 and 12, the KCDO, in collaboration with the Kowloon City Branch of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB), jointly held the "Session to Learn About the Spirit of President Xi's Important Speech" at Hung Hom Community Hall on July 26. The Founder President of the DAB, Mr Jasper Tsang, was invited to be the keynote speaker. The District Officer (Kowloon City), Miss Alice Choi, also spoke at the session. About 140 participants attended the session, including Member of the LegCo Ms Starry Lee; the Vice Chairman of the Kowloon City District Council (KCDC), Mr Ng Po-keung; and Member of the KCDC Mr Lam Tak-shing.

      Further to the five sessions held on July 8, July 14, July 17 and 18, the STDO, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions (FTU) Sha Tin District Service Office, the FTU Ma On Shan Branch, Hong Kong Youth Power Association, East Teenagers GO Association and Shatin Friends Society held the "Sharing Session to Learn About the Spirit of President Xi's Important Speech on July 1" at Sha Kok Community Hall on July 26. The Division Chief of the New Territories Sub-office of the LOCPG in the HKSAR, Mr Liao Minghua, and Members of the LegCo Mr Tang Ka-piu and Ms Joephy Chan, were invited to be the keynote speakers. The District Officer (Sha Tin), Miss Carol Or, and the Director of the FTU Sha Tin District Service Office, Mr Au Chi-fai, also spoke at the session. About 160 participants attended the session, including district personalities, local residents and volunteers in Sha Tin District.

      Further to the two sessions held on July 19 and 21, the C&WDO, together with the CW Power, jointly held the "Session to Learn About, Promote and Implement the Spirit of President Xi's Important Speech" in Central on July 25. Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress Mr Ip Kwok-him and Member of the LegCo Mr Chan Hok-fung were invited to be the keynote speakers, while Mr Wang Hui also spoke at the session. They exchanged views with around 80 district personalities of Central and Western District. 

      Other District Offices will continue to roll out sessions so as to enable more key District figures to obtain a deeper understanding of the spirit of the President's important speech.
