Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sau Mau Ping this morning (July 26) in which a 59-year-old man died.

     At about 7.50am, a motorcycle driven by a 59-year-old man was travelling along Sau Mau Ping Road to Kowloon Bay, while a bus driven by a 50-year-old man was travelling along Sau Mau Ping Road to Lam Tin. When approaching near the junction of Sau Mau Ping Road and Shun On Road, the motorcycle reportedly lost control, dashed to the opposite lane and collided with the bus.

     Sustaining multiple injuries, the motorcyclist was rushed to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 8.12am.

     Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is underway.
