The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) and the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Trade Promotion Working Group today (July 22) jointly held the "Light Up Eco-City, Walk With Me" Theme Day and a series of seminars at the Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Expo 2022. Representatives of the E&M trade introduced to visitors the scope of work, career prospects, promotion opportunities, and training and continuing education in the industry.
 
     The Director of Electrical and Mechanical Services, Mr Eric Pang, said that the E&M industry comprises diversified job types. A number of infrastructure projects have been launched in Hong Kong in recent years, and that created ample career and development opportunities in various E&M sectors. He encouraged young people to join the industry to capitalise on their strengths and pursue their goals.
 
     As the guest of honour at the opening ceremony of the "Light Up Eco-City, Walk With Me" Theme Day, the representative of the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Trade Promotion Working Group and the President of the Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Limited, Mr Rocky Poon, said that the EMSD and the E&M trade have been working together to offer diversified and systematic training to nurture talent. He said he hoped that the Expo would help visitors to learn more about the development of the industry and attract interested persons to join.
 
     As part of the Education & Careers Expo 2022, the E&M Expo 2022 is being held at Hall 5G of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre until July 24 (Sunday). The opening hours are from 10am to 7pm daily (open until 6pm on July 24). Admission is free.
