Police strongly condemn act of impersonating police officers of national security department
******************************************************************************************
On June 30, 2020, the Hong Kong Police Force established a department to safeguard national security, officially known as the National Security Department of the Hong Kong Police Force.

Police are concerned about media reports stating that Hong Kong “National Security Wing” has sent emails to overseas legal practitioners alleging that they have breached the Hong Kong National Security Law.

Police strongly condemn the act of impersonating police officers. Police appealed to the persons concerned to provide further information or evidence to facilitate follow-up actions.

Police reiterate that, as a professional law enforcement department, Police would act in accordance with the relevant laws, established procedures and guidelines when executing duties. If anyone contravenes the laws of Hong Kong (including the Hong Kong National Security Law), Police will investigate in accordance with the law.
