The HKCERT is responsible for coordination of the computer security incident response for local enterprises and internet users. The HKCERT collaborates with local bodies and computer emergency response team coordination centres of other regions to collect and disseminate information on security incidents. The HKCERT also provides advice on preventive measures, incident response and recovery actions against security threats, as well as promotes information security awareness among enterprises and internet users.

Professor Sun later toured the Green Hall, the Hong Kong Joint Research Lab for Applications of Intelligent Automation Technology and the Automotive Platforms and Application Systems R&D Centre. He was briefed on green technology projects and observed demonstrations of the research and development projects on artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as automotive technology.

Professor Sun acknowledged HKPC's efforts in recent years in promoting the development of re-industrialisation in Hong Kong, assisting enterprises to switch to high value-added production and gradually upgrade to Industry 4.0. He expressed his hope that the HKPC will continue to enhance the competitiveness of Hong Kong's manufacturing industry with innovation and technology, fostering diversification of Hong Kong's economic development.
