Hospital Authority announces positive patient cases detected via admission screening or testing and clusters of nosocomial COVID-19 infections

     The Hospital Authority today (July 8) announced information regarding patients who tested positive via admission screening or testing with patients or staff members identified as close contacts and nosocomial COVID-19 infection cases:
      
     The following are the statistics of patients who tested positive via admission screening or by testing in public hospitals with patients or staff members identified as close contacts:

     The following are the statistics of clusters of nosocomial infection cases in public hospitals:

     In addition, two more male patients of a medical mixed ward of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) tested positive for COVID-19. So far, there are altogether nine patients and one staff member who have tested positive. Furthermore, a patient hospitalised in a medical male ward of AHNH tested positive for COVID-19 on July 4 via admission screening. After contact tracing investigation, two more patients in the same ward tested positive. All patients concerned are being treated under isolation with stable condition.
      
     Two more male patients, hospitalised in an infirmary ward of Hong Kong Buddhist Hospital, tested positive for COVID-19. So far, there are altogether 14 patients and four staff members who have tested positive. The patients concerned have been transferred back to TWGHs Wong Tai Sin Hospital for treatment under isolation. All patients are in stable condition.

     A female patient of Pok Oi Hospital Tin Ka Ping Infirmary tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday (July 7). She is currently hospitalised under isolation treatment with serious condition. Seven patients were classified as close contacts and were placed under quarantine. In addition, one female staff member also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier.
      
     Admission and visiting arrangements for the aforementioned wards concerned have been suspended. Thorough cleaning and disinfection have been conducted. The hospitals will continue to closely monitor the health condition of patients and staff members, and communicate with the Centre for Health Protection on the latest situation.
