LCSD invites public to join Roving Sports Demonstrations For All

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will continue to hold the Roving Sports Demonstrations For All during weekends in July at two shopping malls and a performance venue. The event will introduce and demonstrate different types of sports activities to encourage people of all ages to form the habit of exercising, as well as to promote the healthy message of doing exercise.

     A sports demonstration featuring physical fitness exercise will be held tomorrow (July 9) from 2.30pm to 4pm at TKO Spot, Tseung Kwan O. The other two sports demonstrations are rope skipping at K11 Art Mall, Tsim Sha Tsui, from 2.30pm to 4pm on July 16 (Saturday), and wushu at Youth Square, Chai Wan, from 2.30pm to 4pm on July 17 (Sunday). The LCSD held a sports demonstration featuring dance in late June, which was well received by the public.

     There will be display exhibition boards to help visitors understand the benefits of regular exercise, thereby promoting the "Sport for All" concept during the events.      These events are under the exclusive sponsorship of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), and are among the many initiatives supported by the HKJC's approved donation of $630 million to the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, demonstrating that the HKJC is resolute in pursuing its purpose of acting continuously for the betterment of our society, all in support of creating stronger communities together.

     To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR, the LCSD has prepared a series of exciting leisure and cultural programmes, and the Roving Sports Demonstrations For All are among the celebration activities.
