Police security operation ends

     In respect of President Xi Jinping’s visit to Hong Kong, Police conducted a security operation from June 29 to today (July 1) and implemented relevant measures on road closures, temporary traffic and pedestrian diversions. Police thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation by following the instructions of police officers so that the operation could be conducted smoothly.

     During the operation, Police handled a total of five criminal cases and arrested four local men aged between 25 and 42 for offences including criminal damage, possession of offensive weapon, obstructions in public places and operating small unmanned aircraft within restricted flying zone without permission.

     In addition, Police deployed the Force Media Liaison Cadre during the operation to better facilitate the media in reporting.

     Police will continue to carry out duties with dedication and commitment in order to ensure public safety and public order. Police will also proactively safeguard national security as well as maintain the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong.
