President Xi Jinping swore in the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, and Principal Officials at a meeting celebrating the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland and the Inaugural Ceremony of the Sixth-term Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region this morning (July 1).

     Shortly after the Inaugural Ceremony, President Xi met with the new Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, and members of the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. They included the Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal, Mr Andrew Cheung Kui-nung; the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki; the Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan; the Secretary for Justice, Mr Paul Lam Ting-kwok, SC; the President of the Legislative Council, Mr Andrew Leung; the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the Executive Council, Mrs Regina Ip, as well as the Principal Officials and Permanent Secretaries of the new term of Government.

     Accompanied by Mr Lee, President Xi took a group photograph with them.
