Inaugural Ceremony of Sixth-term HKSAR Government held (with photos/videos)

     The Inaugural Ceremony of the Sixth-term Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) was held this morning (July 1) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

     President Xi Jinping, who is in Hong Kong for this special occasion, swore in the Chief Executive, Mr John Lee, and Principal Officials, and delivered an address afterwards.

     The Chief Executive then swore in members of the Executive Council.

     The wife of President Xi, Peng Liyuan, also attended the ceremony.

     About 1,300 guests joined today's ceremony, including Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Mr Xia Baolong; the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, Mr Luo Huining; members of the Executive and Legislative Councils; Hong Kong deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; political and economic figures; local dignitaries; senior executives of Hong Kong-based Chinese enterprises; and members of the foreign diplomatic corps.
