Murder in Tsim Sha Tsui

     Police are investigating a murder case happened in Tsim Sha Tsui yesterday (June 30) in which a 23-year-old woman died.

     At 8.50pm, Police received a report from a 28-year-old man that he assaulted the 23-year-old woman in a hotel room on Austin Road West.

     Police officers sped to the scene and found the woman lying unconscious in a bathroom. Sustaining multiple injuries, she was certified dead at scene.

     Initial investigation revealed that the deceased had been suspectedly attacked by the 28-year-old man with a knife. A knife in suspected connection with the case was seized.

     Police arrested the 28-year-old man for murder. He is being detained for enquiries.

     According to Police’s record, the 23-year-old woman was a missing person. Police received a report from her family yesterday morning that she went missing after leaving her residence on Hoi Tan Street, Sham Shui Po on June 29 afternoon.

     Post-mortem examinations will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.

      Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Yau Tsim District is underway.
