EMSD launches "e-Forms" and "Digital E&M Licences"
**********************************************************************
Following the full upgrade of online services for licence applications in March, the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (June 30) launched "e-Forms" and "Digital E&M Licences" services to further enable the trade and the public.

Members of the public can complete and submit over 150 "e-Forms" through the EMSD's online system starting today, including services related to lifts and escalators, electricity, gas, amusement rides, builders' lifts, tower working platforms, district cooling systems and energy efficiency.

With "e-Forms", members of the public and practitioners in various trades can complete the entire application process for various licences, registrations or other certificates (i.e. submission of applications, payments and collection of the licences or certificates) and submit specified forms online without having to visit the EMSD in person. It saves citizens' and trades' time, and enhances the operational efficiency for all.

The EMSD also launched "Digital E&M Licences" for eight types of practitioners registered with the EMSD, including electrical workers, competent persons under the Electricity Supply Lines (Protection) Regulation, gas installers and related competent persons, lift workers and engineers as well as escalator workers and engineers. Starting today, registered practitioners can log into the mobile app of the EMSD with their smartphones or other mobile devices to view their registration information and show their "Digital E&M Licences" to the public. The "Digital E&M Licences" service contains a dynamic QR code for anti-forgery purposes. Members of the public can scan the QR code to verify the registration information of the workers.

Details of the above services have been uploaded onto the EMSD's website at www.emsd.gov.hk/en/electronic_submissions/index.html. For technical support, please call 3741 8892 or email wbrs_support@emsd.gov.hk.
