Buildings Department launches Stage 1 of Electronic Submission Hub
******************************************************************
To promote a green environment and facilitate preparation and processing of submissions under the Buildings Ordinance (Cap. 123), the Buildings Department (BD) is developing the Electronic Submission Hub (ESH) (esh.bd.gov.hk), which offers an alternative to the current paper-based submission.

The BD today (June 30) launched Stage 1 of the ESH, which accepts electronic structural plan submissions for building works above ground (excluding alteration and addition works) and related applications.

Stage 2 of the ESH scheduled to be launched next year will cover more submissions that will require processing by some organisations or departments including those under the Works Branch of the Development Bureau while Stage 3 will cover all types of plan submissions.

The BD encourages building stakeholders to submit plans electronically via the ESH. Details of the requirements for making electronic submissions via the ESH are provided in Practice Note for Authorized Persons, Registered Structural Engineers and Registered Geotechnical Engineers ADM-17 and Practice Note for Registered Contractors 42 available on the BD website (www.bd.gov.hk).

The BD has set up a dedicated helpdesk at 3580 1000 and email address at esh-helpdesk@bd.gov.hk to provide technical support to users.
