Appointments to new term of Re-industrialisation Funding Scheme Vetting Committee

     The Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) today (June 29) announced the appointments to the new term of the Vetting Committee for the Re-industrialisation Funding Scheme (RFS) under the Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF). Mr Jimmy Kwok Chun-wah was re-appointed as Chairman of the Committee. In addition, eight non-official members were re-appointed and four new non-official members were appointed. The appointments are for a term of two years starting from July 1, 2022. The membership of the new term of the Committee is as follows:

     The Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, Ms Rebecca Pun, said, "We would like to express our gratitude to the current members of the Committee for their strong support and valuable contribution in the past two years, and extend our sincere appreciation to the outgoing members Mr William Lai Yuen-fai, Dr Thomas So Shiu-tsung and Professor Yeung Dit-yan. We trust that the Committee, under the leadership of Mr Kwok, will continue to assist more manufacturers to set up new smart production lines locally to drive re-industrialisation in Hong Kong."
 
     The RFS provides funding on a 1 (Government): 2 (company) matching basis to subsidise manufacturers to establish new smart production lines in Hong Kong. The funding ceiling is one-third of the total project cost or $15 million, whichever is the lower. The scope of funding covers expenses directly related to the establishment of the new smart production lines in Hong Kong, including the costs of procurement, installation and commissioning of the machinery, equipment or apparatus, as well as fees for engaging technical consultants for the design and setting up of the production lines concerned (testing and staff training costs inclusive).
