Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases

As at 0.00am today (June 26), a total of 601 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 are currently hospitalised for treatment, including 99 new patients. Among the patients staying in isolation facilities, 201 patients are in isolation wards, 18 patients are in second-tier isolation wards and 185 patients are in the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, of which 83 in total are new patients. There are no newly reported critical and serious patients. There are totally 11 patients in critical condition and 12 are in serious condition, of which three critical patients are receiving intensive care. Among the hospitalised patients, most of them are in stable condition, while a small proportion are in critical and serious conditions, which have not caused serious impact to the service of public hospital. Besides, there are 51 patients who have recovered, including 48 patients who have been discharged. In addition, no confirmed patient passed away in public hospitals yesterday.
In the fifth wave of the epidemic, there are 51 643 patients who have recovered so far, including 51 302 patients who have been discharged. And since early 2020, there are 64 023 patients who have recovered, including 63 682 patients who have been discharged.
The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
In addition, further to the announcement made yesterday (June 25) on a cluster of COVID-19 cases in an oncology mixed ward of the Prince of Wales Hospital, one more nurse and one more patient care assistant tested positive. Two staff members concerned are in stable condition. The hospital will continue to communicate with the Centre for Health Protection on the latest situation.
