Appointments to Board of Directors of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation

     The Government today (June 24) announced that the Chief Executive has re-appointed Dr Sunny Chai as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) for two years starting from July 1, 2022.
      
     The Secretary for Innovation and Technology, Mr Alfred Sit, said, "In the past four years, Dr Chai has been leading the Corporation to cultivate a vibrant innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem at the Hong Kong Science Park by launching a number of I&T infrastructure projects and initiatives. We are confident that under Dr Chai's leadership, the Corporation will continue to support the development of local technology enterprises and implement measures to assist I&T enterprises to develop in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area cities."
      
     The Government also announced the appointment of three new members and re-appointment of seven serving members by the Financial Secretary for a period of two years from July 1, 2022.
      
     Mr Conrad Chan, Dr Samson Tam and Ms Phoebe Tse are appointed as new board members of the HKSTPC.
      
     Mr Chen Shuang, Mr Herbert Chia, Mr Donald Choi, Mr Dennis Ho, Dr Stephanie Ma, Mr Daryl Ng and Mr Jimmy Ng are re-appointed as board members of the HKSTPC.
      
     Mr Sit said, "With their extensive experience and knowledge, the Board will continue to guide the Corporation to contribute to Hong Kong's I&T development."
      
     The tenure of two incumbent board members, Mr Joseph Ngai and Mr Gavin Poon, will expire on June 30 this year.
      
     "The outgoing members have actively participated in the work of the Board and have provided valuable contribution to the local I&T development. The achievements of the Corporation could not have been made possible without their guidance and wise counsel," Mr Sit said.
      
     The HKSTPC, which began operation in 2001, manages the Hong Kong Science Park, three InnoParks and the InnoCentre. It provides a comprehensive range of services to support technology enterprises and to nurture start-ups, as well as land and relevant facilities for the industry.
