The Department of Health (DH) today (June 24) announced that Eastern Street Methadone Clinic at 45 Eastern Street, Sai Ying Pun, will cease operation from July 1.

     After its closure, those who have been receiving methadone treatment there may continue their treatment by attending other methadone clinics without prior applications or referrals.

     "We have informed clients of this methadone clinic and stakeholders about the arrangements. The DH will continue to monitor the utilisation of methadone clinics and adjust their services and operations in response to service needs," a spokesman for the DH said.

     The public may visit the following website (www.dh.gov.hk/english/tele/tele_chc/tele_chc_mc.html) or call 2835 1831 during office hours for information of all methadone clinics.
