Proprietors fined for violation of safety legislation

     ​Good Praise Limited and Chicardo Investment Limited were each fined $60,000 at Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts today (June 23) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.
 
     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on July 22, 2021, at an industrial undertaking in Hung Shui Kiu. While a worker was operating an elevated working platform (EWP) for loading it into a lorry, the EWP suddenly overturned and caused him to fall from the EWP to the ground. The worker sustained serious injuries and passed away four days later.
