     The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointment today (June 23):

     Mr Andy Lau will be appointed as the Head of Corporate Services with effect from September 5, succeeding Ms Margaret Cheung upon her retirement.

     Mr Lau is currently the Chief Manager (Boards & General) at the Head Office. Prior to joining the HA in 2014, he was the Assistant Secretary General of the Legislative Council Secretariat, providing executive and secretariat support to the Legislative Council. In his current position, Mr Lau supports the HA Board to discharge its role in leading and managing the HA, as well as plans and implements strategic initiatives to enhance and promote good corporate governance in the HA.

     The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Tony Ko, congratulated Mr Lau on his new appointment and wished him every success in taking up the new role.

     Mr Fan and Dr Ko also expressed deep appreciation to Ms Cheung for her valuable contributions, particularly in maintaining sound corporate governance in the HA in the past years, and wished her happiness in the years ahead.
