The Under Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Clement Woo, paid home visits under the Celebrations for All project in Yau Tsim Mong District today (June 21). He distributed gift packs to an elderly doubleton household and an elderly person living alone in the district to show care and love in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

After attending the launch ceremony of the Celebrations for All project in Yau Tsim Mong District at the Yau Tsim Mong Multicultural Activity Centre, Mr Woo visited an elderly doubleton household and an elderly person living alone in the company of the District Officer (Yau Tsim Mong), Mr Edward Yu. Mr Woo chatted with the elderly people to understand their daily lives and needs, and presented them with gift packs on behalf of the HKSAR Government.

Mr Woo said that he was glad to take part in the project and thanked the social welfare bodies and community organisations for extending warm regards to the less privileged. He said, "This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. The HKSAR Government has injected community care into celebratory events, with a view to fostering unity and mutual help in society as well as a caring and inclusive culture, and building a brighter future for Hong Kong."

The Celebrations for All project is one of the major events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. With funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the project has been implemented by the 18 District Offices together with non-governmental organisations and community organisations in the districts.
