Education Bureau to hold "Playtime with Children" Roving Exhibition to promote Positive Parent Campaign
******************************************************************************************
The Education Bureau (EDB) issued a circular memorandum today (June 13) to inform all kindergartens, primary and secondary schools of the details of the "Playtime with Children" Roving Exhibition to be held by the EDB starting from this month to August, and the release of a parent education resource kit to encourage participation of parents and students in the event.

A spokesman for the EDB said, "To further promote the Positive Parent Campaign, the EDB has commissioned the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service to organise the 'Playtime with children' Roving Exhibition and produce a related parent education resource kit with a view to enhancing parents' understanding on how to develop quality time with their children and create happy childhood memories through parent-child play, so as to help children grow happily and healthily."

The spokesman said that the ambassadors for the Campaign, "Mommy Light" and "Daddy Light", and their two family members, together forming the "Light Family", will promote positive parent education at various exhibition venues. The exhibition panels have significant content, sharing with parents on subjects such as "Why to Play" and "How to Play", as well as introducing various parent-child games. The roving exhibition also includes a video gallery and a "Light Family" photo booth corner. The "Playtime with Children" board game will also be distributed as a souvenir.

The first large-scale exhibition will be held on June 18 and 19 at MOSTown, Ma On Shan, from noon to 6pm. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the event.

"Playtime with Children" exhibition panels will also be displayed in various public housing estates. The first exhibition will be held from today to June 17 at Tsing Yi Shopping Centre.

The EDB has been running the Positive Parent Campaign since June 2020 and has all along been promoting positive parent education through extensive and diversified channels to foster parents' positive thinking and the proper ways and attitudes of raising children. The objective is to foster a positive mindset among parents in nurturing their children, with a view to helping their children learn effectively and grow happily.
