The annual International Arts Carnival (IAC), which offers an array of inspirational and enjoyable programmes for families and children, will be held between July 8 and August 14.
 
     The IAC is organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), with a variety of programmes covering dance, multimedia concert, interactive installations, music theatre, puppet theatre, musicals and films from around the world.
 
     In this year's carnival, three programmes are designated for celebrating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and are exclusively sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC). They are one of the many initiatives supported by the HKJC's approved donation of $630 million to the Government to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR. The HKJC is resolute in pursuing its purpose of acting continuously for the betterment of our society, all in support of creating stronger communities together.
 
     The three programmes are the IAC opening programme "Cinderella", jointly presented with the Hong Kong Ballet; "Creature: Installation" by Stalker Theatre (Australia); and "Why Why Tell Me Why - A Music Carnival" by Ksana Productions.
 
     The Hong Kong Ballet's Artistic Director, Septime Webre, collaborates with virtuosic choreographer Yuri Ng and actor-singer-dancer and cabaret artist Rick Lau on a daring new concept with veteran theatre director Ata Wong to reinterpret the classic fairy tale "Cinderella", bringing audiences a brand new fun-loving show. With support from the MTR Corporation, the show's fringe activity, an interactive exhibition on "Cinderella", will take place at the MTR Hong Kong Station followed by the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, offering viewers a sneak peek into the fairy-tale kingdom with arts technology.
 
     Stalker Theatre's "Creature: Installation" is an immersive and interactive installation that reimagines natural Australian habitats and animals unique to that environment, where visitors young and old can discover the living creatures therein.
 
     "Why Why Tell Me Why - A Music Carnival", curated by renowned musician Chiu Tsang-hei, guides performers from various age groups, to raise questions with music and find answers through a carnival of songs.

     Other programmes include:
 
* "Sing Along with Lok Lok" by One Table Two Chairs Charitable Foundation, taking audiences on a journey of discovery of naamyam;
* "Space Dog Laika" by Little Smudges Theatre, presenting a puppet play about a scientist and a space dog;
* "The Enchanted Bookshop", a musical that revisits the joy of reading, by the Hong Kong 3 Arts Musical Institute;
* A Theatre Space musical based on Akiyuki Nosaka's "Grave of the Fireflies";
* "Where are the animals?", a music programme;
* "Soundscape Magic Flute", a music theatre for children by Zuni Icosahedron; and
* "Summer Family Screen" by the Film Programmes Office.
 
     The IAC continues to offer online programmes, while museums and libraries will also hold a wide range of related cultural activities during the carnival period.

Moreover, in accordance with the Prevention and Control of Disease (Vaccine Pass) Regulation (Cap. 599L) and relevant requirements of administrative instructions, all persons entering indoor venues under the management of the LCSD and Living Art Stage, MTR Hong Kong Station, must comply with the requirement of the Vaccine Pass.
