The Government appeals to elderly persons aged 70 or above or persons with impaired mobility due to illness or physical disability who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine before to seize the opportunity to register for the free door-to-door vaccination service via the Home Vaccination Service website (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/hv/) or the enquiry hotline (Tel: 5688 5234) as soon as possible. Starting from June 13, the Home Vaccination Call Centre will operate from 9am to 8pm from Monday to Friday.
 
     The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Patrick Nip, said, "Over 27 000 people have registered for the service since the call centre commenced its operation in mid-April. In addition to receiving calls from the public, the call centre has contacted about 190 000 people, including those who are receiving relevant allowances under the Social Welfare Department and are yet to get vaccinated, and those who have been referred by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, to help them register for vaccination. The Home Vaccination Service rolled out smoothly in late April. It has administered vaccination to nearly 18 000 people since then, and receives fewer enquiries these days."
 
     For members of the public who have registered for the service, please note that although the call centre has repeatedly made phone calls at different time slots, quite a number of calls are unanswered. The call centre will send an SMS to those people who have registered for the service but cannot be reached by phone. These people are reminded to pay attention to SMS notifications and contact the call centre as soon as possible to follow up on the arrangement of their appointments.
 
     Meanwhile, in view of the service demand, the HKU Children Community Vaccination Centre at Gleneagles Hospital Hong Kong in Wong Chuk Hang will, starting from June 13, provide the BioNTech vaccination service to eligible persons aged 12 or above on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and continue to administer the BioNTech vaccine to children aged 5 to 11 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The opening hours of the centre are from 10am to 6pm daily. Starting from tomorrow (June 7), persons aged 12 or above can make reservations for vaccination at the centre through the designated website of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk). Same-day tickets are not available at this centre.
 
     The number of designated general out-patient clinics of the Hospital Authority providing COVID-19 vaccination service by reservation will be increased to 59 starting from tomorrow. Members of the public can also choose to receive vaccination for free at the 21 Community Vaccination Centres, 13 Hospital COVID-19 Vaccination Stations, 11 Elderly Health Centres under the Department of Health, over 1 000 private doctors and clinics providing the Sinovac vaccination service, and the 79 venues operated by private healthcare institutions providing the BioNTech vaccine, and more.
 
     The designated website for the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme (www.covidvaccine.gov.hk/en/programme) provides the latest information including details on vaccination venues, reservation and enquiry hotlines.
