**********************************************************************************
The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (May 13) urged the public to stop using two models of SUPER and MEC adaptors as tabled below, and contact the local sole agent of the products, Golden Edge Group Limited, for replacement.

Brands Models Colours Affected production batches
1 Super N13USB3A Black/White Since October 2020
2 MEC N13USB3A Blue/Purple Since October 2020

According to the supplier of the products, a manufacturing defect was found in the affected batches of adaptors during testing, resulting in non-compliance with the fire resistance standard for a product component. The supplier has decided to arrange for a recall of the affected products in exchange for a replacement to ensure product safety.

The affected batches of adaptors have been on sale in Hong Kong from October 2020. Those who have purchased the aforementioned adaptors should call the service hotline of Golden Edge Group Limited at 2558 0163 to confirm whether their adaptors are in the affected batches, and arrange for product replacement accordingly.
