Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases

As at 0.00am today (April 27), a total of 1 716 patients who tested positive for COVID-19 are currently being treated in the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, the Hospital Authority (HA) Infectious Disease Centre, the Treatment Centre for COVID-19 (AWE) and public hospitals. There were 256 patients who have recovered, including 175 patients who have been discharged. In addition, eight patients who passed away in public hospitals were reported.
In the fifth wave of the epidemic, 47 347 patients have recovered so far, including 46 635 patients who have been discharged. And since early 2020, 59 727 patients have recovered, including 59 015 patients who have been discharged.
The HA will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.
