Homicide in North Point

At about 9.27pm last night, Police received a report from a 51-year-old woman that a woman and a girl were found collapsed inside a unit on King’s Road.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the 19-month-old girl collapsed on bed. Sustaining neck injuries, she was certified dead at scene. Sustaining also neck injuries, the 24-year-old woman was sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in conscious state.
Initial investigation revealed that the deceased was strangulated to death. The case is classified as homicide. The 24-year-old woman who was in suspected connection with the case was arrested and is now being detained for further enquiries.
Two death notes and some plastic straps in suspected connection with the case were seized at scene. Post-mortem examination will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the deceased.
Active investigation by the District Crime Squad of Eastern District is under way.
