Fatal traffic accident in Yuen Long

At about 9.40am, a medium goods vehicle driven by a 69-year-old man was travelling along Tai Kei Leng Road towards Shap Pat Heung Road. When approaching near the junction of Tai Kei Leng Road and Tai Shu Ha Road East, it reportedly knocked down the 75-year-old man who was crossing the road.
Sustaining head and multiple body injuries, the man was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 10.20am.
The medium goods vehicle driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is being detained for further enquiries.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway.
