Draft Tin Shui Wai Outline Zoning Plan approved
************************************************
The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Tin Shui Wai Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

"The approved OZP provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide the development and redevelopment within the Tin Shui Wai area," a spokesman for the Town Planning Board said today (April 22).

The planning scheme area covers about 406.23 hectares of land in the northwestern part of the New Territories North West. It is bounded by the Inner Deep Bay Site of Special Scientific Interest and Tin Tsz Road to the northeast and east; Mong Tseng Tsuen and Mong Tseng Wai to the north; Lau Fau Shan to the northwest; Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area to the west and Sheung Cheung Wai to the south.

The approved OZP has mainly incorporated amendments shown on the draft Tin Shui Wai OZP No. S/TSW/15, which mainly involved the rezoning of an area at the junction of Tin Wah Road and Tin Ying Road from "Government, Institution or Community" and an area shown as "Road" to "Residential (Group A)1" for public housing development, and other amendments to reflect the current uses and as-built conditions.

Opportunity is also taken to amend the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP to reflect the amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning circumstances, where appropriate. Technical amendments are also made to the Notes, as appropriate.

The approved Tin Shui Wai OZP No. S/TSW/16 is available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, (ii) the Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Tuen Mun and Yuen Long West District Planning Office, (iv) the Yuen Long District Office, (v) the Ping Shan Rural Committee and (vi) the Ha Tsuen Rural Committee.

Copies of the approved OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
