Sewerage rising main emergency repair works at Seaview Promenade

The Drainage Services Department today (April 8) announced that sewerage rising main emergency repair works will be carried out from today until April 10 at Seaview Promenade near Deep Water Bay Beach and Repulse Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island. The sewage at Repulse Bay Main Sewage Pumping Station will be treated by the chemically enhanced primary treatment process before being discharged to the sea. To safeguard public health, members of the public are advised not to swim at the nearby beaches and sea area during the period.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced earlier that in view of the present severe situation of COVID-19, all gazetted beaches were closed to prevent crowds from gathering and to lower the chances of virus transmission from March 17 until further notice.
