The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

The Hospital Authority (HA) today (March 28) expresses heartfelt appreciation to the Hong Kong Community Anti-Coronavirus Link (HKCACL) for its generous donation of around 100 000 Anti-epidemic care packs to support all HA staff fighting against the epidemic, boosting morale.

The HA Chairman Mr Henry Fan said at the appreciation ceremony, "The HKCACL has rallied support from different sectors, including strong support from local and mainland organisations as well as tremendous assistance from the HKCACL volunteer teams for preparing the care pack, with the anti-epidemic supplies from JD.com, to cheer up every HA staff in this prolonged epidemic fight. We express heartfelt thanks to the HKCACL and JD.com for their kind initiative in timely boosting the morale of healthcare workers. The move is a recognition to our staff’s efforts during this severe moment of the epidemic. Thanks again to the HKCACL, especially the Chief Convener of the HKCACL, Dr Bunny Chan and the Chairlady of Donation Project to HA, Ms Priscilla Wong for their support."

The Chief Convener of the HKCACL, Dr Bunny Chan expresses his utmost admiration to the frontline healthcare workers who have been working very hard to help people stay healthy, amid a large number of new confirmed cases reported daily since the new wave of outbreak; and hope that this support can boost their morale in keeping up their great efforts in fighting the epidemic. Presenting the care packs to all staff of the HA is the first donation coordinated by the HKCACL with support from JD.com. The HKCACL will also deliver more gifts, which were solicited from various parties, designated to healthcare workers through the HA later on. The HKCACL hopes that this caring initiative can boost the morale of frontline healthcare workers in keeping up their great efforts in fighting and overcoming the battle against COVID-19. As the mainland medical support team in Hong Kong does not accept gift, the HKCACL will continue its heartfelt support to them.
