Caroline Hill Road Pop-up Community Vaccination Centre to open for reservations tomorrow
****************************************************************************************
The Government will set up the Caroline Hill Road Pop-up Community Vaccination Centre (PCVC) in Causeway Bay on March 29 (Tuesday) to provide the BioNTech vaccination service to persons aged 12 or above. Online booking will start at 9am tomorrow (March 25).

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Patrick Nip, said today (March 24), "The setting up of the Caroline Hill Road PCVC is made possible with the provision of the venue free of charge by Hysan Development and the Chinachem Group, and the full support from the School of Nursing at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It is worth noting that the School of Nursing will operate the vaccination centre in a non-profit-making mode and will arrange for its final year students to assist in the administration of the vaccine under the supervision of experienced registered nurses.

"The Government has set out targets and will endeavour to achieve them by late-April, including boosting the second dose vaccination rate to 90 per cent, and boosting the first dose vaccination rate to 90 per cent for children aged 3 to 11, teenagers and elderly persons aged 70 or above, as well as residents at residential care homes. Vaccination and receiving the second and third doses of a COVID-19 vaccine on time are the keys to overcoming the epidemic, to protect ourselves by reducing the risk of serious illness and death from infection, to protect the healthcare system, and to return to a relatively normal way of life. We will closely monitor the situation of vaccination and pay particular attention to assisting the old and the young to speed up their pace of vaccination."

The Caroline Hill Road PCVC is located at the junction of Caroline Hill Road and Leighton Road in Causeway Bay. Members of the public can access the PCVC from Exit F1 of MTR Causeway Bay Station and by heading towards the Caroline Hill Road direction via Yun Ping Road. The centre will be open daily from 8am to 8pm and will be closed between 1.30pm and 2.30pm for cleaning. In addition to taking prior bookings for vaccination, the PCVC will also distribute same-day tickets to persons aged 12 to 17 and elderly persons aged 60 or above. This PCVC will operate until end of June.

Meanwhile, the MTR Tsing Yi Station Community Vaccination Centre (CVC) will provide the BioNTech vaccination service from March 29. The CVC will concurrently provide a Sinovac vaccination service to a small number of people who have made Sinovac vaccination appointments up to April 21. During the three-week transition period, the CVC will be delineated into two distinct zones for administering the two vaccines separately. Diversion arrangements will be made at the entrance and clear instructions and signage will also be displayed inside the venue for easy identification.
