******************************************************************************************
In light of the positive test results for the COVID-19 virus from some sewage samples collected in Eastern District, Kwun Tong, Sai Kung, Yuen Long, Southern District and Tuen Mun, the Home Affairs Department (HAD) said today (March 11) that the Eastern District Office (EDO), the Kwun Tong District Office (KTDO), the Sai Kung District Office (SKDO), the Yuen Long District Office (YLDO), the Southern District Office (SDO) and the Tuen Mun District Office (TMDO) have distributed a total of about 200 000 COVID-19 rapid test kits (rapid test kits) to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in the districts.

The EDO and the KTDO distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Fullview Garden, Harmony Garden, Cheerful Garden, Kai Tsui Court and Hiu Tsui Court in Eastern District and Ping Shek Estate, Choi Fook Estate and Choi Ha Estate in Kwun Tong for voluntary testing through the property management companies respectively.

The SKDO and the YLDO also distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Verbena Heights, Hong Sing Garden, Ying Ming Court, Yan Ming Court, King Ming Court and Ho Ming Court in Sai Kung and Tin Chung Court, Tin Ching Estate and Tin Fu Court in Yuen Long for voluntary testing through the property management companies respectively.

The SDO distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Ap Lei Chau Estate for voluntary testing through the Housing Department.

In addition, the TMDO also distributed rapid test kits to households, cleansing workers and property management staff living and working in Hong Kong Gold Coast, Sam Shing Estate, Aegean Coast, Siu On Court, Seaview Garden, Tsing Yung Terrace and Bayview Terrace for voluntary testing through the Housing Department and the property management companies.

The HAD made the above arrangements in the hope of identifying infected persons early.

For people who obtained positive results through rapid antigen test (RAT) for the first time can report via the online platform "Declaration System for individuals tested positive for COVID-19 using Rapid Antigen Test" (www.chp.gov.hk/ratp/). If individuals encounter difficulties in using the online platform, they can call the automated system at 1836 119 to register their identification document and telephone number. The Centre for Health Protection will contact the relevant person later to finish the report procedure.

Besides, if people living or working in the above areas are tested positive with the rapid test kits, they may call 2280 4772, the Government's 24-hour hotline for "persons tested positive with rapid antigen tests in areas with positive sewage testing results" to arrange door-to-door delivery of RAT kits and/or a nasal swab self-sampling kit free of charge. If people wish to undergo polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, they may collect nasal swab specimen and arrange door-to-door collection of the specimen for PCR testing.

For more information on rapid test kits, please view the following demonstration video produced by the Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzFAUzTtmKk.

The Government appeals for the co-operation of members of the public to safeguard the health of themselves and their families by undergoing testing on a voluntary basis and fighting the virus together. The Government urges all individuals who are in doubt about their own health condition, or individuals with infection risks (such as individuals who visited places with epidemic outbreaks or had contact with cases that tested positive), to undergo testing promptly for early identification of infected persons to reduce the transmission risks of COVID-19.
